Seapeak Enhances Compliance and Safety with Nexar

Problem

Seapeak, one of the world’s largest owner-operators of liquefied gas vessels, has a strong track record of safety and operational excellence. With a commitment to continuous improvement, Seapeak wanted to ensure they were upholding the highest levels of compliance and safety within their LNG import terminal in Bahrain.

To support this goal, Seapeak sought a solution that would enable more efficient, accurate and transparent Ex inspections within their import terminal. Their teams had previously used a manual, paper-based approach for inspections. While this method had served them well, they recognised the opportunity to streamline their inspection process and enhance data accuracy through digital transformation.

Solution

Seapeak selected Nexar, Arnlea’s cloud-based Ex inspection software, as part of their proactive commitment to improving safety and compliance procedures.

Nexar enables Seapeak’s inspection teams to conduct Ex inspections digitally, whether online or offline, using mobile devices. It supports full compliance with IEC standards, provides built-in validation to reduce human error, and allows seamless data sharing between the LNG terminal and onshore teams. With Nexar’s configurability, Seapeak was able to tailor the platform to align with their internal inspection protocols and operational needs.

Arnlea provided dedicated onboarding support, including data migration and training resources, to ensure a smooth implementation process. A dedicated Client Success Manager worked closely with the Seapeak team, offering guidance and best practices to maximise value from day one.

Results

By adopting Nexar, Seapeak has significantly increased the efficiency and accuracy of its Ex inspections within their LNG terminal. Inspection teams can now capture and report data in real time, improving visibility for both terminal and shoreside stakeholders. The ability to work offline ensures inspections remain uninterrupted regardless of connectivity offshore.

The digital shift has reduced the administrative burden on inspectors, improved data consistency, and allowed Seapeak to focus more time and resources on proactive safety management. Nexar’s reporting capabilities have further enabled faster decision-making and a more robust audit trail, supporting Seapeak’s ongoing drive for compliance excellence and operational integrity.

“Implementing Nexar has transformed the way we approach Ex inspections. It’s intuitive, reliable, and allows our teams to focus on the task at hand with greater confidence and clarity. It’s been a positive step forward for Seapeak’s hazardous area maintenance and compliance processes.” — Duncan Llewellyn, Maintenance Manager, Seapeak
